Literature Review for Caregiver’s Burden focusing on Older People with Mild Cognitive Impairment

Abstract

|
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the caregivers’ burden, knowledge about dementia, social support focusing on older people with mild cognitive impairment.
Method: This was a literature review study.
Results: This study summarized the dementia with mild cognitive impairment. In addition, this study showed the relationship between knowledge about dementia and caregivers’ burden. Also there was a negative correlation between social support and caregiver’s burden.
Conclusion: The results of this study added the fact that mild cognitive impairment is a very important risk factor for dementia in the elderly. We have to develop education programs to increase caregivers’ knowledge about dementia and improve social support.
